Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country that is a preferred destination for tourists across the world. International tourists, except the nationals of visa-exempt countries, are required to get a visa for entry into the country.
The Government of Malaysia offers an online visa on arrival for Indians and Chinese. This facility is available since 2017. Moreover, Malaysia has recently introduced 15-day visa-free visit for Indian and Chinese nationals and will be available for the entire 2020. Indian travellers will be required to get registered under the Electronic Travel Registration & Information (eNTRI). It is an online registration system to allow hassle-free entry for Indian citizens under the visa waiver programme.
Malaysia visa for Indian Passport Holders is required for travellers seeking entry into the country. The eNTRI visa allows Indians to enter the country and is convenient as compared to Visa on Arrival. An eNTRI note is issued, as proof of registration, which must be presented when arriving in the country. Once they are registered, travellers can visit the country within a period of three months. The visa will be limited to 15 days and cannot be extended. Travellers can also re-enter the country after 45 days from the date of leaving.
Indians can also obtain Malaysia visa on arrival for India by paying a fee of 100 USD and can stay in the country for a maximum period of 7 days. It can be obtained from the immigration counter upon arrival. There is also a fee that must be paid. Malaysia eVISA is also available through online facility.

Travel Insurance for Malaysia is a must for travellers visiting the country. In addition to the eNTRI visa print-out, travellers arriving in Malaysia must present documents such as passport, return flight tickets, accommodation proof, proof of funds, etc.
A traveller visiting Malaysia must apply for an eNTRI visa at least 48 hours before departure.
Travel insurance for Malaysia is not a mandatory requirement when applying for Malaysia visa. However, as unforeseen situations can happen anytime, such as hospitalisation, flights delays or cancellation, loss of baggage or passport, etc. it is advisable to buy travel insurance.
You can make changes in your eNTRI visa application before proceeding for payment. However, if you need to make changes once eNTRI visa application has been processed, you cannot do so. You must apply for an eVisa as you cannot re-apply for eNTRI visa within a period of 45 days from the issue of eNTRI note.
The fee that an applicant pays for visa processing is non-refundable.
If the date of departure changes, the traveller need not reapply for new Malaysia eNTRI visa from India if the new date falls within a period of 90 days from the approved visa issuance date by the Department of Immigration Malaysia. However, if the date falls after 90 days from the issuance, the traveller must reapply for the visa.
