Japan Travel Insurance Premium

The premium of travel insurance for Japan is based on various factors, including the age of the traveller, the country they are travelling to, trip duration, and the type of coverage selected. Travel Insurance offered by Care Health Insurance is affordable and budget-friendly.

The premium of travel insurance for Japan from India starts from as low as ₹428* for a single traveller on a 10-day trip.

For instance, if you are travelling from India to Japan for 10 Days on a one-time visit, the approximate premium cost of your travel insurance with a sum insured of US $50K is calculated as below:

Insured Member(s) Age Any Pre-existing Disease Sum Insured Policy Duration Premium Amount (approx.)
1 30 years No US $50,000 10 Days Rs. 428*

*The above-mentioned travel insurance premium is calculated considering that the insured member has not been diagnosed, hospitalised, or undergone any treatment in the last 48 months. Also, the premium amount is subject to change if the insured person has already claimed any travel policy before.

Factors Affecting Japan Travel Insurance Premium

At Care Health Insurance, we provide pocket-friendly premiums for all our travel insurance plans. Generally, the travel insurance premium is based on various factors. A few key factors that affect the Japan travel insurance premium are as mentioned below:

  1. Trip Frequency: The number of trips you take in a year significantly affects your premium. While single-trip travel insurance may come at a lower premium than a multi-trip policy, you must still consider opting for a multi-trip travel insurance plan if you wish to take multiple trips during the year. For example, if you plan to visit Dubai, Singapore, and the Maldives within the same year, a multi-trip policy can be more suitable than buying separate travel insurance plans for each destination.
  2. Trip Duration: The longer your trip, the higher your travel insurance premium is likely to be.
  3. Medical History: Although covering pre-existing medical conditions may increase the premium of travel insurance for Japan, it is always advisable to disclose and cover any existing medical conditions.
  4. Travel Zone: Your destination also affects your travel insurance premium. Travelling to destinations such as Europe may attract a higher premium, whereas travelling within the Explore Asia zone may cost comparatively less. Did you know? The premium for Thailand Travel Insurance and Japan Travel Insurance for a 26-year-old traveller on a week-long trip is the same under Care’s Explore Asia travel insurance plan.
  5. Coverage & Exclusions: Your premium increases when you opt for broader coverage and decreases when you customise your plan with fewer benefits. Comparing travel insurance plans can help you choose the right balance between premium and coverage.

How to File a Claim for Japan Travel Insurance Online?

Unexpected medical emergencies, trip delays, or other covered situations can disrupt your journey to Japan. With Japan travel insurance, you can initiate a claim by contacting Care Health Insurance through the designated touchpoints and following the guided claim settlement process.

Things to Keep in Mind Before Travelling to Japan

  1. You need at least 15 days to explore the major tourist attractions in Japan. So, plan your Japan travel itinerary accordingly.

  3. The country is prone to earthquakes that can be worrisome for some travellers. Always stay alert and keep an eye on the designated evacuation spots.
  4. Do remember to check out the traditional Japanese cuisine at the Conveyor Belt Sushi or Rotation Sushi.
  5. Opt for travel insurance for Japan in advance to enjoy your holidays without worries.

Top Places To Visit In Japan

  3. Kiyomizu-Dera: This ancient Buddhist temple in Kyoto is nestled near the Otowa Waterfall amidst forested hills and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  4. Hokkaido Island: Find serenity in the natural hot springs or head to the nearby national parks. Hokkaido is also known for its volcanoes and popular ski resorts.
