Secure Your Trip to Bali with the Right Travel Insurance

Bali is an Indonesian province and a major tourist destination in Southeast Asia. For centuries, its mystical landscapes have mesmerized travellers. Today, Bali is one of Indonesia's main tourist hotspots, and Indians love to go there because of the deep connections it has with the sub-continent. Health and travel safety are crucial for any traveller. At the same time, it is important to realize the uncertainties of travelling and the various risks. Facing a medical emergency can cause a great degree of discomfort. Spend a Memorable Time in Bali with these Travel Tips

Bali is a diverse place so when you finalize plans, catch up on some Bali travel tips before you choose your base. The popularity of the place means that there will always be a fair share of crowds. If you like your solitude but you also need your WiFi, then a place like Canggu will suit you while families can enjoy the multiple attractions of Ubud.Below are some pro- tips for your Bali stay:

  • Enjoy Bali's tropical climate and abundance of street food while also sticking to best hygiene practices.
  • Stay hydrated and observe a place before you choose to eat there.
  • Make sure that you have an updated travel insurance program that gives you basic health coverage.
  • Don't carry only your beachwear when you are in Bali - many of the best dining establishments have a dress code.
  • Bali is a deeply religious place so make sure that you do not cause inconvenience to the locals with some presumably harmless behaviour. Dress appropriately at the holy sites.
  • The low season is also a fun season as you get to see the misty, more secluded version of Bali. At the same time, be prepared to miss out on a few activities if the rains increase.
  • Catch up on the weather reports and trends before you go so you can plan your daily schedules around the rains - one tip is that the rains are usually restricted to afternoon downpours.
  • Bali has many wild and stray animals living close to human habitation, prominently dogs and monkeys. Restrain yourself from getting closer to them - you can get scratched or bitten, which would mean precious vacation time spent getting to a doctor.

If you are preparing your Bali budget, remember that some of the prices in many establishments are pretty much the same as in a developed western country. There are many options for cheaper travel and amenities - you just need to dig around a little more. Overall, Bali remains a great place for budget vacations but you need to be smarter with your choices.

Things to Do in Bali

A treat for vacationers, Bali promises some of the most cherishable memories. Here’s how you can make the most of your trip to the Lands of the Gods.

Explore the Paddy Fields of Bali

Explore the paddy fields of Tegalalang, home to one of Bali's most recognizable visuals. From honeymooning couples ready to set their Instagram on fire to photographers looking for that special golden hour moment, this region of Bali is a must-visit place on your itinerary. Apart from pretty pictures, there is some impressive engineering to observe. The rice fields are in a terrace formation and follow a uniquely local irrigation system that has prevailed for hundreds of years. Pejeng and Campuhan are also good places to check out the rice terraces.

Have Fun on the Beaches of Bali

The beaches of Bali are known for their dramatic surrounding landscapes and azure waters. Seminyak Beach is around 5 km long - a monster seaside attraction that has pretty much the widest spectrum of attractions within. You can opt to plonk yourself into an old-fashioned beach shack and watch the world go by, over cocktails of course, or you can head over to one of the clubs for some party time. Family vacationers in Bali will love Nusa Dua Beach, known for its clean sands and very steady waters that are ideal for frolicking children. A shopping complex on the beach provides an added attraction while there are water sports facilities.

Engage in Popular Bali Water Activities

When in Bali, you have to eventually plunge into the sea for a next-level experience. It can be something as silly and fun as the rolling donut - basically, where you strap yourself on a donut boat and get pulled across the water. Jet-skiers have plenty of options in Bali - Tanjung Benoa Beach is known for its well-maintained machines and facilities. Snorkelling is a moderate-level water activity that almost anyone can enjoy in most of the coastal waters here. Bali has many good scuba spots for those who want to venture deep into the clear waters.

Take a Trip into the Interiors

It is not just about the sun, surf, and parties when you are in Bali. Escape into a verdant haven that is punctuated by the sound of birds and ripples of streams and gushing waterfalls. The island interiors are primaeval beauty, lush and abundant with life and myriad hues. The Munduk region is known for its jungle landscapes. Hike through the greenery and visit the Munduk waterfall. The Banyumala Twin waterfall is another popular attraction. Twin Lake is one of Munduk's most famous landmarks. It is surrounded by forested mountains and you can enjoy panoramic views from the cafes nearby. You can even step on to a bamboo walkway that overlooks the stunning lake or sits on a swing to enjoy the cinematic views. The famous Balinese coffee is grown in the fertile volcanic soil of the central mountains. A coffee tasting session in Munduk should be on the cards if you are someone who loves local brews.

Information on Bali

The Bali capital, Denpasar is also the largest city on the island. It is located on the southern coast, not too far from the tourist-friendly Kuta town. Denpasar has a lot of cultural attractions and is the main administrative centre of the island. A two-hour flight away from the Indonesian capital Jakarta, Bali is not a very large island and spans 150 km from east to west. Getting around is fairly easy, but because of the high number of attractions, at least a week's stay, if not more, is needed to enjoy the place.

Embassy Information

When travelling to a foreign country it is always smart to know your basic embassy information. Luckily, even though Bali is far from the capital, it has a significant embassy reach on the island. In case you need some ad-hoc documentation done or there is an emergency scenario, the Indian embassy, and its consulate general offices can be of great help. India's embassy is in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. It also has an office of the consulate general in Medan and Bali, due to the strong cultural ties and a large number of Indians who visit these places. In Bali, the Indian Consulate General is located in the town of Denpasar, and it is currently headed by Mr R.O. Sunil Babu, who is the consul general. The following is the address and contact information, along with office hours:
