    What is Not Covered in Greece Travel Insurance Plan?

    Greece travel insurance will not offer expense cover in the following instances:

    • Medical treatment has taken outside the Country of Residence if that is the sole reason or one of the reasons for the journey
    • Any Treatment, which could reasonably be delay until the insured person's return to the country of residence
    • Any dental treatment or surgery unless necessitated due to an injury.
    • Circumcision unless necessary for the treatment of an illness or as may be necessitated due to an accident.
    • Treatment of any Congenital Anomaly or illness or defects or anomalies or treatment relating to birth defects
    • Hormone replacement therapy.
    • Weight management services and treatment, vitamins, and tonics related to weight control programs, services, and supplies, including treatment of obesity (including morbid obesity)

    The minimum entry age is one day.
    The entry age of a proposer is a minimum of 18 years or above.
    The maximum entry age for an adult is as specified in the plan.

    The minimum entry age is 12 years. 
    The maximum entry age is 40 years.

    The insurance premium for an overseas travel insurance plan for Greece is calculated on the basis of various factors such as traveler’s age, trip duration, destination country and type of coverage selected.

    Types of Greece Visas

    International tourists must avail a short-stay type ‘C’ Schengen visa to visit Greece. Based on the purpose of the visit, they can avail the following types of visas:

    Short term stay visa if you are planning to stay in the country not more than 90 days:

    • Tourist or visitor visa: People traveling to Greece for the purpose of tourism, sight-seeing, recreation, meeting family or friends, etc. can avail a single-entry visa that has a validity of 60 days.
    • Business visa: People traveling to Greece for business purposes like meetings, conferences, etc. on a temporary basis must avail this visa.
    • Visa for medical purposes: Those visiting Greece for medical treatment must avail this visa. Supporting documents like medical reports are required for visa application.
    • Visa for Study, Training, Research or Internship: Those traveling to Greece for pursuing study, training, research or internship can avail this visa on the basis of supporting documents like enrolment certificate, certificate of completion or courses attended.
    • Airport Transit Visa: To transit through Greece, travelers require a valid passport, a round-trip or onward ticket and a valid visa for the next destination.

    There are other short term visas that are applicable for Members of Official Delegation, SeaFarers, Under-age children as well as Film Crew and those traveling for cultural, sports or religious purposes.

    A long term stay visa is required for those planning to stay in the country for more than 3 months. With a National ‘D’ visa, travelers can enter the country to apply for a residence permit. With the validity of one year, this visa can be issued under categories like work, studies, etc.

    Visa Procedure for Greece

    Indian citizens can apply for a Greece visa online and schedule their appointment with the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC).

    Step 1: Based on the purpose of visit, duly fill the visa application form with relevant details

    Step 2: Visit the VAC and submit all the supporting documents

    Step 3: Submit the visa fee, as applicable

    It takes around 15 working days, can be extended up to 30 calendar days, for processing the visa application.
