What is Not Covered in Bhutan Travel Insurance?

  • Treatment of any Congenital Anomaly or illness or defects or anomalies or treatment relating to birth defects
  • Hormone replacement therapy.
  • Weight management services and treatment, vitamins, and tonics related to weight control programs, services, and supplies, including treatment of obesity (including morbid obesity)

What is the Process of Obtaining Visa for Bhutan?

Foreign travelers except Indian, Bangladesh, and Maldives passport holders are required to obtain a valid visa with a minimum of six months' validity to visit Bhutan. Indian nationals can also use their Voters Identity Card. Below is the process to obtain a Bhutan visa:

  • The visa must be applied online, and the fee has to be paid in advance only through registered tour operators. These operators should be approved by the Tourism Council of Bhutan.
  • Once the council receives the cost of the trip, it will issue a visa clearance letter to the applicants.
  • Applicants have to present this letter at the time of the immigration at Paro, the only international airport in Bhutan.
  • Only one page of the passport is required to stamp the Bhutan visa.

How much does the Tour cost in Bhutan?

The government of Bhutan has fixed the minimum daily package for the tourist to control tourism and protect the vicinity of the country. The amount is not negotiable.
