How to Get Tested?

The central government allowed all private laboratories that have NABL accreditation for real-time PCR SA for RNA virus to conduct a test for novel corona.

The National Task Force instructed that the cost of the test should not exceed Rs.4500. It is segregated as Rs.1500 for the screening test and Rs.3000 for a confirmation test. 

Below are the tests that can check if the person is corona positive:

Swab Test- It is the test in which a lab technician takes a special cotton swab and sample from the inside of your throat or nose.

Blood Test- Blood samples will be tested for the virus. It can either be done through a blanket test for all variants of the coronavirus or through a specialized gene sequencing test that locates the marker for the novel coronavirus.

Tracheal Aspirate- In this kind of test, a bronchoscope (a thin, lighted tube) goes into your lungs, collected a sample.

Sputum Test- It is a test in which sputum, a variation of mucus from your lungs that can be coughed out or sampled from the nose with a swab is used.

Nasal Aspirate- Under this test, a saline solution injects into your nose, and then, removes the sample with gentle suction.
