Between February 2023 and January 2024, Australia saw a significant increase in Indian visitors, with over 400,000 travellers making the journey. Out of these, 75% travelled for leisure, 8% for business, 7% for employment, and 5% for educational purposes. Whatever the reason for your visit, remember that you'll need a passport and a visa to explore Australia. If you're considering a trip to Australia, check out this helpful guide to the VEVO Visa.
Discover the convenience of Australia’s online visa platform VEVO. Learn how to use a VEVO visa and the importance of a VEVO visa check.
VEVO, full-form Visa Entitlement Verification Online, is an online visa verification process started by the Australian government. It allows visa applicants to check their VEVO visa status online, and visa holders can check their visa details and conditions online. A visa holder can access VEVO using his visa grant number and passport. VEVO records all the immigrants who came to Australia after 1990.
The VEVO system also enables employers to verify whether job applicants have the right to stay and legally work in Australia. By checking a job applicant's visa details and conditions, hiring managers can determine if the applicant is eligible to work in Australia. Failing to conduct a VEVO check on a candidate can cause heavy fines for both the employer and the candidate. Many employers have a mandatory requirement that applicants should provide their visa details while applying for the job.
Using the VEVO system, a visa holder can access only the current visa details and conditions. Information on previous records or new applications is not available. Here are the steps to check your VEVO visa online.
1. Go to the official website of VEVO:
2. Provide the Required Information:
To check your visa details, along with all terms and conditions, select either a passport or an Immicard. Once you choose the travel document type, you need to provide your document number, date of birth, country of document and a reference type from one of the following:
It is generated when you apply for a visa online. If you do not remember your TRN, go to the ‘Online lodgement summary’ and look for ImmiAccount.
Check the Visa grant notification letter you received through email to get your visa grant number. You can also get this number through your ImmiAccount or VEVO service centre. You can only access your visa details using this number.
This number is mentioned on the visa label attached to your passport. Please note that not all passports have visa labels.
3. Submit all the information:
After providing the reference number and all the required information, click submit.
4. Email Visa Details
You can email your visa details to a third party, such as an employer, an individual, a landlord, or a country government, using VEVO through a ‘Create Email’ page. Provide the recipient’s and sender’s (yours) email and send the email.
You can also use the myVEVO app to access your visa details and all terms and conditions and send an email. Download the app, create a PIN and follow the steps above to get the details.
